The Phillie Phanatic is the official mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies Major League Baseball team. He is a large, furry, green bi-pedal creature with an extendable tongue. According to his official biography, the Phanatic is originally from the Galápagos Islands and is the Phillies' biggest fan. He performs various routines to entertain fans during baseball games at Citizens Bank Park and makes public relation and goodwill appearances for the Phillies. The Phanatic is usually acknowledged as one of the best ballpark mascots. It’s been a bit quiet on the blog lately, what with the HUG Super Forum at the beginning of December, followed by the holidays, followed by an exciting new arrival in my life: my and my wife Kelly’s new baby boy, Oliver Peter Steggles, born January 8th, 2014 (healthy and happy!). 2013 was a great year in a lot of respects to be sure, not the least of which has been the success of this blog. These were the top ten most popular posts: SalesForce Chatter Becomes More Than an Activity Feed Lurkers Rock! Who Says They Offer No Value? However, there is no denying that whether you’re marketing to current or potential members, professionals of any industry have evolved with the push of digital marketing messages. The days of blasting out generic emails with terribly cold subject lines are over. What members nowadays want is personalization and information. With the entire world at our fingertips in the form of 4G networking, we can essentially find industry specific information anywhere, any time. The trick now, is to be smart about your ...

If you are not familiar with "lightbox", go here and click those awesome images. Yup, lightbox does that. Also, that page has instructions on how to do so. I am going to teach you how to implement it to your site. The biggest concern here is the css file. Make sure you aren't using any of the classes or else it may cause issues with other elements that are using the same class. Please take a look at the light box css first and see if it may cause problems with your elements but most likely it won't. I will say 90% it won't but who knows. To add the Url for both js and css, you can go to Admin's page. It is found on the top right of your page. ...

Presented by Brett Wangman , President, The Center for Association Growth; Michael Jones , Director of Mobile Technologies for Results Direct; and Rob Wenger , CEO of Higher Logic Thanks to the skyrocketing sales of mobile devices and tablets, the desktop PC has become something of a dinosaur. Smartphones and tablets – not “computers” – are the first thing we check when we wake up in the morning and often the last thing we look at before going to bed. That means it’s essential that organizations develop websites that render well on screens of all sizes. But so-called “responsive design” isn’t enough to effectively reach all members. Mobile devices ...

Here are three key ideas that Sheridan, an expert in inbound and content marketing, discussed with attendees aiming to strengthen their communities and memberships. 1. They Ask, You Answer When it’s time for a potential member to make any purchasing decision, they take to Google to do their research. If a website isn’t forthcoming with basic information (such as pricing and educational content), that member will ...
